Welcome to the Institute for Materials Science

The Institute of Materials Science consists of four departments, which together pursue the goal of understanding material properties and optimizing them in a targeted manner. Computer-aided material design, chemical material synthesis and measurement of physical properties show that materials science is an interdisciplinary subject. This is comprehensively taught in the Bachelor's and Master's degree program Material Science, which is the responsibility of the Institute.

Lab Courses: Labs in Chair of Material Physics

Lecturer:

Prof. Dr. Guido Schmitz

PLEASE NOTE: The class is LIMITED to 22 students, due to limited lab equipment. Therefore, you MUST register in C@MPUS for the lecture AND the exam. First come, first serve with a waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, you should come on the first day of class in case there is/are no-show(s).
Please also note that, due to the technical limitations of C@MPUS, although we are able limit the class/course registrations, it is not possible to limit the number of exam registrations. So, even if you register for the exam, that is no guarantee that you can take part in the class unless you have registered for the class (and received a slot) in C@MPUS.
