The University of Stuttgart is a member of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) e.V., represented by its CIO Dr Simone Rehm. Through their involvement in the sections of the association and their work in the consortia NFDI4Ing, NFDI4Cat, MaRDI, NFDI -MatWerk and NFDI4Chem consortia, members of the University of Stuttgart are driving the vision of the National Research Data Infrastructure of FAIR data and software, particularly in the areas of terminology development and the promotion and handling of sustainable research software.
University of Stuttgart @ NFDI Sections
Complementary to the disciplinary consortia like NFDI4Ing, overarching topics are addressed in NFDI sections. Originating from our engagement in NFDI4Ing, members of the our university contribute substantially to, for example, the Working Group "Research Software Engineering" of the NFDI Section "Common Infrastructures". Currently active tasks inside the working group are, among others, preliminary measures for the establishment of an NFDI Software Marketplace and for the implementation of an NFDI-wide Jupyter service.
In addition to this, we are involved in the interdisciplinary documentation of research results and the harmonisation of discipline-specific metadata schemas and terminologies in the "(Meta)data, Terminologies and Provenance" section.
