The international buddy program offered by the University of Stuttgart and the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart aims to support you during your start in Stuttgart.

Welcome to Stuttgart, international students!

You can meet our buddies for several occasions during your first days. The first place is at the airport or main station Stuttgart as soon as you arrive. Check out our registration forms below and register for the service. One of our buddies will greet you at the airport and take you to the train station, help you buy the right ticket, and get you on the right train to where you will be staying.

The Buddy Program for INFOTECH students is organized by the INFOTECH Office. Please only contact office@infotech.uni-stuttgart.de to register.

Frequently asked questions by international students

ready.study.stuttgart is the international buddy program of the University of Stuttgart and the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart. From the start, our buddies will support international students from around the world.

All international students of the University of Stuttgart – no matter where they are from – can take part in the buddy program. Just talk to one of our buddies, they are happy to help.

Our buddies welcome you when you arrive at the main station or the airport in Stuttgart and help you get to your accommodation. So, they provide initial assistance in getting started the right way in your new life at the University. After that, you will be well-prepared and on your own for the following days.

Moreover, our buddies organize leisure time activities throughout the semester. Join our mailing list to receive our newsletter with our events!

Our services are free of charge for everyone.

You can use our registration forms to register. Please note that there are different forms for exchange students (e.g. Erasmus, Overseas programs, Double Master) and degree-seeking students.

Our buddies will help you move in, but you have to look for accommodation by yourself. Please check our website for useful advice on how to find accommodation in Stuttgart.

There are several possibilities for your first night(s) in Stuttgart. We can provide an overview of several accommodation options here in Stuttgart. Please keep in mind that it is only possible to move into your student dorm room during the caretaker's office hours. We kindly ask you to consider this before booking your flight.

Are you a degree-seeking student and are looking for support during your studies? The Intercultural Mentoring Program of the University of Stuttgart might be of interest to you. As a mentee, you will receive intensive support during the semester including frequent meetings with your personal mentor.
