Biochemistry explores the chemical mechanisms that drive life processes:

  • Molecular structure of living beings
  • Reproduction and inheritance
  • Metabolism and exercise
  • Molecular stimulus processing
  • Mechanisms of disease development

Biochemistry plays a central role in basic medical and molecular biological research, clinical research and the development and synthesis of drugs and novel natural substances.

In addition to foundational knowledge in mathematics, physics, and biology, the Bachelor's degree program in Biochemistry offers comprehensive training in chemistry. From the first semester onwards, the program offers comprehensive foundational and specialized training in all sub-areas of biochemistry, complemented by hands-on laboratory practicals.
