The Chemistry Master’s study program is part of the consecutive chemistry study program. It builds on the University of Stuttgart’s 6-semester Bachelor’s in Chemistry program or on an equivalent B.Sc. earned in another university‘s B.Sc. program. Besides providing an advanced education in the core subjects of chemistry, the program puts priority on the goal of preparing students to do active research or go for a doctorate in chemistry.
At present, the Master’s in Chemistry study program has four research profiles to choose from that reflect the current research focus of the department’s scientists: :
- Advanced synthesis and catalysis
- Materials and functional molecules
- Biochemistry and biotechnology
- Theory and simulations in chemistry
You should enjoy chemistry, be curious about nature’s secrets, be interested in natural science and math, like to experiment – and be equipped with perseverance, an affinity for team work, and self-reliance (especially in organizing your learning experience).
