"Maschinenbau / Mechanical Engineering" is a joint Master’s degree program between the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, USA, and the University of Stuttgart.
Program participants from Stuttgart and Atlanta complete two semesters respectively at their own university and the partner university to earn this joint degree from two renowned universities. The two universities complement each other particularly well: Both facilitate deeper knowledge in the key areas of design, production, energy- and process engineering, automotive engineering, mechanics, mechatronics and engineering cybernetics.
Georgia Institute of Technology is consistently ranked among the top international universities, not least because of the outstanding research environment in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering and the attractive campus life. Mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart has a distinguished reputation in applied research embedded in a unique industrial environment.
Please note that this is a German study program, therefore, inquiries in any other language than German will not be answered. Very good German and English language skills are required.
The basic requirement for obtaining one of the few, sought-after study places in this program is to have a very good academic track record in the engineering Bachelor’s study program (e.g. mechanical engineering or engineering cybernetics). Beyond that, applicants should have both good German and English language skills and high degree of independence and self-discipline needed to successfully complete their studies at the University of Stuttgart and Georgia Tech.

- Advanced English language skills according to the admission regulation.
- For foreign applicants applying at the University of Stuttgart: advanced German language skills according to the language requirements of the University of Stuttgart (TestDaF (4x4)). This proof must be uploaded during the application process.
