Detail information on building areas
The accessible entrance is at street level (1st basement floor) on the side of the building and can be opened with a pushbutton.
There are two main entrances (each has glass doors): One is on the 1st Basement floor on the east side of the building, at street level, and another on the ground floor on the south side (access from the park).
Tactile floor information on the handrail in the stairwell.
Right in front of the house (street level), there are several public parking spaces for disabled drivers.
There are elevators that lead to all floors with lecture halls, seminar rooms and other rooms used by students. The offices of the institute staff are located on the mezzanine floors. Wheelchair users can only access the mezzanine floors with an elevator chip, which can be used in elevator no. 6 and is available from Ms. Weimer, Division 3. The regular elevators lead down to the 2nd basement floor, which is the access level to the underground lecture halls M 17.01 and M 17.02. On this level (upper auditorium level), wheelchair spaces are available in the lecture hall. Wheelchair users who are reliant on a seat in the front row due to a visual impairment can access this area by using a special elevator to access the third underground level, which only can be operated by a key. For assistance in this case, please contact the Facility Management Services in good time (Tel. 0711/685-83020). In the third underground there is a wheelchair accessible toilet. The Audimax M 17.01 is accessible in the third underground level through a corridor and a ramp behind the auditorium. The smaller auditorium, M 17.02 is accessible through a corridor and a preparation room with a lift (only for lecturers).
The double doors do not have automatic door openers. The side entrance on street level has an automated door. Some of the doors can only be opened with effort.
There is an accessible restroom on the 1st floor basement floor (Eurokey locking system). The door has a clear passage width of approx. 84 cm.
