"Living diversity. Now more than ever!"
Stuttgart Pride, also known as Christopher Street Day (CSD) Stuttgart, will take place on July 24, 2024 under the following motto: Living diversity. Now more than ever! The University of Stuttgart took part in the parade for the first time. Around 450 participants from the university formed one of the 148 groups that meandered as part of the parade from Feuersee to Schloßplatz.
“I am overwhelmed by how many members of the University of Stuttgart responded to the call to join the Pride parade. This underscores the importance of collaboration within and through diversity for us as a university community",said Prof. Silke Wieprecht, Vice Rector for Diversity and Internationalization. “I would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment - especially Felix Trbola, the main organizer. He played a pivotal role in bringing to fruition the ideas of numerous students and employees this year."
Why the University of Stuttgart participates in the Pride Parade?
We are absolutely convinced that diversity enriches the University of Stuttgart. Diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, along with the resulting experiences and skills, provide a wealth of perspectives. We aim to harness these perspectives to enhance learning, teaching, research, and work, benefiting everyone involved. This requires an environment where everyone feels safe to fully realize their potential.
By participating in the Pride parade, the University of Stuttgart is demonstrating its commitment and conveying the motto, “Intelligent Through Diversity”, to the broader community. Together, we are setting an example of respectful and appreciative coexistence, demonstrating solidarity within diversity. This is the basis for openness, participation, co-design, creativity, innovation and thus for the success of our university.
