Do you work at the University of Stuttgart and have a manager who does particularly good and diversity-sensitive work in their role as a supervisor? Help us to make this role model for good leadership more visible! This year, the University of Stuttgart is once again awarding the “Fü(h)r divers!” prize to a manager who has demonstrated outstanding diversity-sensitive leadership. This measure recognizes the active commitment to diversity by managers at our university.
Nominations are open to all persons in academic or non-academic management positions at the University of Stuttgart. Only the respective employees (student, academic, non-academic staff) of the manager who know their management style from their own experience are eligible to nominate. Self-nomination or nomination by superordinate bodies (e.g. dean's offices) is not possible.
The nominations received will be forwarded to the jury, which will then select a winner from the nominees. Repeated nominations are possible (except from award winners).
The prize, which was awarded for the first time in 2024, is presented by the Vice-Rector for Early Career Researchers and Diversity, Prof. Dr. Judith Tonhauser. The prize money amounts to 5,000 euros for use in the team.
How do I nominate the leader?
The nomination should describe in as much detail as possible and with examples how diversity sensitivity is reflected in the nominee's leadership style. Furthermore, it should take into account as many of the dimensions of the University of Stuttgart's diversity concept as possible (gender, lifestyle, age, health, social background, nationality & culture or professional orientation).
Some examples of where diversity sensitivity can be demonstrated in the management style are as follows:
- Composition of the team
- Work processes in the team
- Individual promotion of team members
- Flexible work organization
- Transparency of diversity-sensitive measures internally
- Visibility of diversity-sensitive leadership externally
Please send your nomination (max. 2 pages) by e-mail to the Vice-Rector for Early Career Researchers and Diversity by April 1, 2025.
