At the current QS World University Ranking of subject groups, the University of Stuttgart has been ranked twice in the top 100; and one of the rankings was even in the top 50!
In the field of “Engineering – Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing”, where Stuttgart Aerospace Engineering plays the most significant role, the University of Stuttgart was ranked 42nd in the international category, and 3rd in Germany, thus retaining its top position in this field.
Decisive points were the very positive academic reputation, but also the number of citations and the excellent reputation of future employers. The field of “Architecture / Built Environment” was ranked 51st from the 100 best universities internationally and was awarded 4th place in Germany.
The QS World University Ranking according to subject groups comprises 1,368 universities from 83 different countries. 48 subjects and 5 faculties were evaluated.
In the subject area of "Engineering and Technology", the Technical University of Munich, the Technische Universität Berlin, RWTH Aachen University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology are among the top one hundred universities worldwide. With the Technische Universität Dresden, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the University of Stuttgart, a total of seven TU9 Universities are among the top 150.
