The Calwer Passage, the GENO-Haus on Heilbronner Strasse, and the Witwer Building on Schlossplatz are just a few examples of Hans Kammerer's projects in Stuttgart that continue to shape the city even today. His buildings are an integral part of architectural history and in 2022, the architect and former University of Stuttgart professor would have turned 100. To mark this occasion, students of the Architecture and Urban Planning study program at the University of Stuttgart, together with the Institute of Architectural History (ifag), Professor Klaus Jan Philipp, and the Hans and Maiti Kammerer Foundation, will be showcasing the diverse and defining projects of the Kammerer and Belz office.
How has Kammerer's work helped shape Stuttgart's urban cityscape even today? Which buildings are particularly significant? These questions and more will be explored in the digital exhibition "100 Years of Hans Kammerer - Architecture for Stuttgart", as part of a city walk through downtown Stuttgart. The digital exhibition focuses primarily on the perception and understanding of the architectural works of the Kammerer and Belz office. The city walk offers an opportunity to experience Hans Kammerer's buildings up close.
All information about the places visited on the city walk and the selected projects can be found on the exhibition website.
