The University of Stuttgart has raised 1.1 million euros for the next four years as part of the DAAD's "FIT - Promotion of International Talent for Integration into Studies and the Labor Market" funding program. The "FiT-US" project builds on and expands the existing advisory and support services for international students.
The aim is to implement a range of measures to ensure the success of international students' academic endeavors and their subsequent integration into the German labor market. Both during and at the end of their studies, international students receive language support, as well as extensive information and support services tailored to meet their individual needs and networking opportunities that prepare them comprehensively for a successful career start in the German job market. This encompasses a variety of initiatives such as personalized guidance, integration events, specialized mentorship programs, intercultural support, language courses tailored to career needs, resources for learning and academic support, career counseling, assistance with job applications and searches, as well as opportunities for networking with student organizations, alumni, and local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The "FiT-US" project began on April 1, 2024, and ends at the end of 2028. The International Office works closely with the Language Center, the division of Students' Affairs, the TRACES Transfer Center, the International Service Points of the Faculties of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Energy, Process and Biological Engineering and Design, Production and Automotive Engineering as well as numerous network partners in the city of Stuttgart and the wider region. The project is coordinated by the International Office. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
