The University of Stuttgart mourns the death of PD Dr. Rolf Brack, who died on March 20, 2023, at the age of 69.
After completing a degree in sports science, Brack received his doctoral degree from the University of Mainz in 1983 and completed his habilitation on handball-specific training theory in 2001. From September 1978 until his retirement in July 2019, Brack was employed at the Institute of Sport and Movement Science at the University of Stuttgart, first as a research assistant, and later as a senior lecturer.
As a researcher and a teacher, Rolf Brack represents the close link between theory and practice. He often enthralled his students with exciting anecdotes from his many years as a coach for the German handball league and national handball team.
