On October 9, 2022, philosopher and sociologist Bruno Latour passed away in Paris at the age of 75. He was one of the most important theorists of contemporary social sciences and one of the most outstanding French intellectuals of his generation. In particular, he was best-known for his contribution to the founding of actor-network theory.
In the IZKT podcast series "Autour de Latour - Future Prospects" from July 2020 to March 2021, we spoke with scientists from very different disciplines about the great challenge of our time, which was also central to Latour's work: the transformation towards a sustainable way of life and economy. In the storm of the Corona Crisis, how can we work to become "terrestrial," that is, to inhabit the thin green zone on the planet in a way that does not destroy the foundations of life?
In our series, not only colleagues from the University of Stuttgart answer these questions, but also - in the last episode - Bruno Latour himself.
