In this course, participants will learn about various ways to approach gender and diversity in different research disciplines.
Each week a different guest lecturer will talk about their research or practical work and how it is connected to gender and diversity. Amongst others, we will talk about language, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, unconscious bias or neurodiversity. Participants will learn about various ways in which gender and diversity matter in research projects within the humanities, social sciences, life sciences, economic and political sciences, architecture as well as others.
The individual presentations are either in English or in German language. A detailled syllabus with the titles of each week’s guest lecture will be distributed during the first session.
PhD candidates are encouraged to talk to their supervisors about the possibility to receive credit points for the course.
Since there are only a limited amount of spots available, please register by sending an E-Mail. Students can register via Campus.
This class is offered as a part of the Studium Generale. It can be counted towards module B of the certificate Gender and Diversity. Diversity in language, society, research and practice, which can be acquired by students, doctoral students and employees of the University of Stuttgart. However, you can also attend the course without acquiring the certificate.
