The lecture series "AI for engineers" presents methods of AI to solve current problems in science and economy in an innovative way by using AI. The lecture series presents the different perspectives of ten lecturers on the field.
On Wednesday, Dec. 06, 2023 at 3:45 p.m.,Annette Möller, University Bielefeld / Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, (HZI), will speak on the topic of "Modeling and Data Analysis."
This lecture introduces the fundamentals of statistical data modeling using linear regression. The lecture focuses on the assumptions and prerequisites of the model, as well as basic methods for estimating a linear regression model. Any necessary basic principles, or basic topics that have not yet been covered from the fields of descriptive and inferential statistics will be briefly reviewed. Subsequently, methods for model building/model selection will also be discussed, as well as the diagnosis of the selected model with respect to the fulfillment of the model assumptions as well as the goodness of fit of the data. The concepts introduced are accompanied by illustrations using data with the help of the statistical software R, including graphical representation and discussion of the model outputs.
New lecture series "AI for engineers" in the framework of the project IKILeUS (HLRS / IHR). Valid as interdisciplinary key qualification FüSQ and in the thematic field module T9 Engineering Sciences but also for interested non-specialists.
