The Department of Architecture and Housing Sociology is once again inviting students and their families, as well as anyone interested in housing, to the WohnWeihnachtsVorlesung at the University of Stuttgart.

The observer, the analyser, the commentator, THE UMARELL
[pronunciation [umaˈrɛl], from Bolognese Umarèl / plural Umarì for Italian Omarello, ‘little man’, anglicised plural Umarells]

The author and blogger Danilo Masotti gives a new perspective on the social figure of the experienced man in the cosmos of urban design and development, which is currently being pushed into the background in academia. In this year's edition of the WohnWeihnachtsVorlesung, architect and professor Piero Bruno reflects with us on the significance of this change in perspective.

The enquiring gaze of the Umarellian raises the question of the acceptance and participation of his discarded generation in our ageing society in Germany. Professor Piero Bruno is a visible witness to these changes and with his gaze he would like to observe the parallel production of living space and look for answers to this new form of public sphere.

This lecture is aimed at students and offers the opportunity to invite family members to attend on the occasion of the lecture date - December 18.
